Summary: The Historic Robert Jenkins House expects soon to begin a restoration project with funding assistance from a Save America’s Treasures grant awarded by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior. The City’s Historic Preservation Commission has issued a Certificate of Appropriateness, the State Historic Preservation Office has issued a letter of Concurrence of No Adverse Effects, and the National Park Service has just approved the project, so that contractor bids now will be solicited. The public is welcome to tour the house and its museum and library and to attend a 2pm presentation by project architect Marilyn Kaplan of Preservation Architecture. The house is the chapter house of the Hendrick Hudson Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
