Fifty members of the public and the Hendrick Hudson Chapter attended the inaugural Women and Whaling in Hudson event on Saturday April 26th. They enjoyed docent-led tours and a panel discussion exploring life in Hudson for women during the height of its whaling days, which were 1783-1829. Topics included everyday clothing, education, and generally what we know, and don’t know, about women during that time. Here are a few photos, plus the program from the panel.

More Women and Whaling continues on Saturday, May 31st, with docent-led tours at 1pm and 2pm and a panel discussion at 3pm. Reserve a spot by May 29th at 518.828.9764 or hendrickhudsonchapterdar@gmail.com.
